Situation:
For many years, Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California functioned under two different operating platforms. This lack of operational consistency presented a great deal of challenges in all aspects of the business. As a result, senior executive leadership made the decision to integrate each department at the two sites. I was tasked with leading the Merchandise Operations integration effort for our two domestic resort properties.
Solution:
- I led a team of cross-functional stakeholders that developed a strategy to ensure all aspects of Store Operations would transition to a single, consistent operating platform on an aggressively accelerated timeline.
- I spent a great deal of time and effort working with leadership at both sites to ensure all appropriate partners had input into the work and felt a strong sense of ownership and collaboration in everything we did.
- I led the effort to build new operating and training guides which supported the rollout of the new organizational structure.
- I guided the teams on every step of this exciting and unprecedented journey to ensure we operated at peak efficiency.
